A quiet day in Celtics land today, as the team had a day off after their three-point win over the Cavaliers on Saturday afternoon. Lost in the heat of the battle of a hard fought win yesterday was this fun moment. After a jumpball early in the second quarter that Avery Bradley won against Kyrie Irving, Kris Humphries corralled the ball. Then, near disaster ensued.
In related news, Humphries posted his fifth straight solid game yesterday, with 10 points and three rebounds so we’ll let this one slide. He continues to be a major asset of the bench for the C’s.
On the opposite end of the spectrum of boneheaded mistakes, long-time CelticsHub writer Brendan Jackson came up pretty big yesterday in the game of life.
Brendan and his girlfriend Sarah have been “going steady” for over four years. Long-time readers of CelticsHub may remember Sarah from posts on CelticsHub back in 2010, featuring phenomenal writing like this:
Brendan had a prior engagement tonight and is now watching the game on DVR. In his attempt to keep himself from seeing the outcome of the game, he has left me with the daunting task of trying to figure out how to post the box score. Let’s just say he owes me a steak dinner…
As the comment section shows on that post, she has a lot of fans out there.
In any case, last night, Brendan, who doubles as a fine recreational hockey player in addition to his writing, pulled an incredibly classy move and proposed to Sarah (in front of her surprised family) after playing some hockey with Sarah’s family.
I wasn’t there but I heard Sarah was a little surprised.
Needless to say, she said yes. Congrats to the newly engaged couple, two of my favorite people!
