Your Boston Celtics Summer League Team

Now that the draft is over, it’s time to turn our attention to the 2013 NBA Summer League!  Woo!

It’s that time of year where the fringe veterans and hopeful rookies are enter the arena in the hopes that they can show team executives something.  Something that will guarantee them thousands of dollars and a chance at a career.

Behold! Comcast Sportsnet New England’s A. Sherrod Blakely reported the roster of said fringe and hopeful earlier today:

If I had to guess who on this roster has a realistic chance of making this team, I would say Iverson, Olynyk, Melo, Pressey, Johnson-Odom, and Jones.

  • BH24

  • Simone

    Jones who?

There were TWO Tony Mitchell's in this draft? Cool.

    • Morpheus

I was hoping it was the real Tony Mitchell, the Pistons one.

Iverson is supposed to be going to Europe as a stash.

    • Phil

Who has said that? Iverson turns 24 tomorrow. If he goes to Europe, he's never playing in the NBA. You stash a player so they reach some upside while not on your books, there's no upside there.

I saw reports of that as well. After summer league, he wants to play in europe. I'm guessing he'll change his mind if Danny offers him a roster spot.

  • Simone

I think is talking about Lamont Jones, who is not yet inserted in the summer League roster.
Olynyk should be almost a sure bet in making the team: doesn't he have a guarantied contract as a first round pick; at most he'll spend some time in the development league

  • KC Jones? Sam Jones? Basketball Jones

    • Morpheus

It's like saying Williams. There are so many Williams in this league.

Would have been good If Sullinger was healthy.
