The Celtics are shorthanded tonight after the team announced Kevin Garnett is out with an adductor (groin) sprain in his left leg. Garnett took part in the team’s practice on Thursday afternoon, but Doc Rivers noted to reporters that Garnett “wasn’t moving around well” though he declined to be any more forthcoming than that.
Without Garnett, Jeff Green get his third start of the season tonight against the Bobcats. He’s averaged 22 points per game in his first two starts. Rivers is unsure if Garnett will be available for Monday night’s game against the Heat. However, if the serious is anything serious, you’d have to think the Celtics would err on the side of caution with their prized power forward.
More on the situation as it develops live from the TD Garden….
