Paul Pierce May Get Night Off Vs. Bobcats Tonight

Paul Pierce incredibly has played every game this season thus far, despite battling a pinched nerve in his neck the past two months. He’s earned some rest at this point over the next 20 games. When and where it will be coming is still debatable, but Greg Dickerson from CSN is on the scene down in Charlotte and is reporting it may start tonight.

A couple thoughts here. On the one hand, the Celtics lost to the Bobcats their last time out. On the other hand, if you can’t rest Pierce against the Bobcats, when can you rest him? The C’s won’t be coming off a back-to-back this time around, so they should be able to take care of business without their captain.

Either way, I like Doc starting the rest train early here. KG may be next in line tomorrow night against Toronto or perhaps Saturday night against Charlotte. The important thing remains though that the C’s need all of these games if they still want to win the division title. There’s enough talent on the roster to get it done, but they can’t afford any letdowns.
