One day after bringing back D.J. White on a 10-day deal, the Celtics will maintain their depth on the front line, by re-signing power forward Shavlik Randolph to a 10-day deal. Randolph has yet to see action with the Celtics this year, but that could change in the upcoming days with some inferior opponents on the horizon, and Kevin Garnett needing some rest in all likelihood.
The Celtics are unable to sign Randolph after this 10-day deal expires for another 10-day deal. At that point, they will have to sign him for the remainder of the season, or let him go.
Doc Rivers indicated in an interview last week, he hoped the team would opt to go with continuity with the roster for the remainder of the season, so unless a major free agent from overseas becomes familiar, it’s likely both Randolph and White will finish the year with Boston (barring an injury).
