Thumbnail: Even the most diehard Celtics fans may be a bit distracted for this one by another big act in town (hello, Patriots). With that said, this game counts just as much in the standings as any other one does, even if no one is watching.

The things you need to know? Avery Bradley remains questionable with a rib injury. Look for Leandro Barbosa to get the nod once again in his place if he can’t go. The Pistons are fresh off a trip from London, having dropped a double-digit decision to the Knicks. Even though they may still be a bit jetlagged, their legs will be fresh, having only played one game over their past week plus.

Perhaps more importantly, they are playing .500 basketball lately, and are a tough out at home. The C’s will need to have all hands on deck for this one, with a tough schedule looming later this week, they can’t afford to lose winnable games like this.

Celtics 92, Pistons 88

Well this is pathetic I don't recommend flipping over to the cs if ur watching the pats because this is sad. Getting absolutely dominated in every aspect of the game here. So much for bouncing back. Zero energy more terrible shooting. Basically same old shit. Pistons up 36-18. Andre Drummond and Bynum eating us alive.

      Much better 2nd quarter

  • Danny

On the positive side Jeff Green is playing great but KG is way off again tonight. His shot isn't even close. I wonder if something is wrong with him. Somebody needs to stop this Drummond kid.

  • elroz

Detroit keeps shooting over 50%…the Celtics keep shooting below 40%… nothing has changed since the 1st quarter.

There seems to be no point of having JET on this team…either he stinks or Doc and Rondo have no idea what to do with him. Pierce has utterly dropped off the last 10 games….. seems ready to retire.

Hate to say it my fellow fans but I think the time has come where there is no denying it anymore. we are what we are and unfortunetly and that is a mediocre basketball team with some serious flaws. We can play well some nights and other nights were gonna have 20 turnovers and shoot 37%. This roster is a failed experiment I feel.

I’ve been a realist the last 20 games. The C’s aren’t a good team. For the future this team needs to hit the lottery. Either to draft a good young player or use the pick in a trade to get a current star. This club is too dependent on 35+ year-old guys.

today is the bullshit day boston sports and i am not the happy guy; i am notice is anyone else to, that nba celtics are loose mamentums we are has last week prior , am eagers get this back – how are we do this otherwise to then give ball rondos more ?

    • check12check

I don't see rondo being the savior for this team. at this point he is a poor defender who really only works distributing the ball. his 4-16 shooting speaks for itself. You can't do much with 25% shooting

  • check12check

I just don't see a way this team can compete without an overhaul of the roster

The sad part is I really thought this team was gonna be good this year. I thought they had added scoring and got younger while keeping last years core intact. If u had bet me a $1000 dollars on Oct. 30 that this team would be 20-20 half way thru I’d have said no way and took that bet. Glad nobody offered me lol. Team is just flawed and doesn’t play with any consistent effort.

  • Mark

I see another blame Rondo guy showed up. You people are pathetic.

    • CelticsBIG3

Did you watch him 2nite? He was terrible. Why can't he just shoot the f#$%ing ball when he gets to the rim instead of dishing it back to someone? Shoot. The. F$#%ing. Ball. Not all on Rondo obviously, but I mean come on man, he was bad tonight.

If I had the time to collect all the hysterical comments from the last 3 years from people like us about how the Celtics are bad, including 2010, I'd have a long set of quotes. The team may or may not do well in the playoffs but they are as good as they were last year. They got lucky that Derek Rose was injured last year. It's the same basic team. They're the same level of quality. They could do well again but it would require some luck, just like last year. I could see them making it to the finals or losing a hard found first round. I care about the guys and I like them and I'm ok watching them do their best. I don't want them to trade anyone. They're struggling and the team dynamics are interesting and mysterious as usual. And watching them try to get better, and occasionally see what that's like, is interesting. And as usual what will make them nice to watch is that there's really no one all that good on the team. As usual they're old and mediocre and that's part of why we like watching them win in the playoffs. Because it's always something to be proud of.

    Chin up.

Best comment ever Emg. Chin up, indeed. Would you, fans, want your support base to give up on you halfway to your goal, whatever that may be? Especially when you have proved doubters wrong again and again? Chin up, indeed. Well see you in the playoffs, Miami. On a side note, keep verbalizing your doubts publicly and out loud as I know how it fuels the fire that will burn in the postseason. Celtic fo life!

  • ghoulbuns

Also, a shoutout to Doc for trying out the 3 guard lineup (Bradley,Rondo,Barbosa) even if it was just for a minute. Lets try that experiment again, just not against Detroit….

  • ghoulbuns

Also didnt detroit recently own Miami? Just sayin…
