View from the Opposing Bench: Bucksketball

Thumbnail: After an unappealing start to their 2012-13 campaign in Miami, the Celtics host the Bucks tonight in what will double as their home opener, as well as the season opener for Milwaukee. A lot of familiar faces are back for the visitors, including one of the most dangerous backcourt tandems (on the offensive end) in the league in Jennings and Ellis. Ilyasova is a stud on the offensive end as well, so the C’s will need to clean up their lackluster pick and roll defense to keep Milwaukee at bay tonight.

Another fun thing to look out for will be the return of Marquis Daniels to the TD Garden after three faithful years of service in a C’s uniform. He is coming off the bench for Scott Skiles, although it is unclear whether he will see any minutes over the likes of Mike Dunleavy Jr. We’ll have more from TD Garden, including the starting lineup from Doc as we get closer to gametime.

Lets get that first W tonight! I want to see improved defense, and an improved bench.

Are Ellis and Jennings really that threatening offensively? I'm not worried about guys who are gonna get 20 points each on 35% shooting. One of them could go off, but I don't expect it to if the D shows up. I honestly don't expect much of a game here; I'm more curious to see if the big offensive numbers from the Heat game keep up on both sides of the ball. I like this Celtics team's potential on offense, and this is another solid D to test them.

If I never have to see the lineup that finished the 1st quarter (Barbosa, Terry, Green, Sully, Darko) again, it'll be too soon. Porous on the outside with no presence inside. Gross.

So when are the Celtics suppose to start playing?

14 point down to the Bucks?!

They are playing like They don't want to but have to… C'mon! Bucks don't have more talent, but they are simply outplaying Celtics right now…

  • Phil

I'd like to withdraw my earlier comment that I don't expect much of a game. I was under the impression that the Celtics would be playing tonight.

I'd like to blame one guy, but really, its everyone. KG's play has me the most concerned; he's not getting anything on offense, and he's not rebounding on defense. He looks hurt or disinterested. He looked the same against Miami, but I was fine with writing that off because of opposition. Ekpe Udoh is no Lebron.

I can't even decide who to focus on, but my eyes are bleeding, and I'd like it to stop.

should have read my earlier post on this thread…that summed it all up..hat was the warning to all.

Ring ring… ring ring… Yes, good morning, C’s. This is your early morning wake up call.

Hope the coffee kicks in after a half of basketball.
Where are my championship contender Celts?
    Not pleased… SMH

  • WTF

    ugly, ugly and ugly!

  • WTF

Shit, I can do better than that!

  • elroz

You see…this is NOT a team..too many unintegrated, lost, and confused players. Too much of a good thing one might say. Last season they just had AT MOST 9 guys…eventually just 8.

Today Doc and the coaching staff have THEIR HANDS FULL working with this bunch…and will continue to have their hands full until about mid-season. Too many pieces.

Don't even know what the silver lining for this game is.
A stinker already in just game 2 of the season.

We need a new cook or recipe maybe! I know it's only the second game of the season, but what horrible efforts by them and it seems like they're being too lackadaisical about it all.
