Post-game Reactions

Give credit where credit is due.  There are a lot of reasons why the Celtics lost the Eastern Conference Finals but the only reason the Miami Heat don’t lose in the second round every year is because of this man.  Enjoy him.  He’s incredible.  He’s the best player on the planet.

Don’t worry.  This is not a LeBron James love fest.  We’ll be breaking down all the reasons why the Heat are terrible, unlikeable, and will get absolutely crushed in the Finals.  But we’ll also look in the mirror a little bit…

Thank you guys – It's been one hell of a ride!

And to quote the ultimate MASH episode: Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen

  • Anthony

Man, this game sucks. It was still a hard fought game so it doesn't rank in my top 5 heartbreaking games. For me, it's nowhere near Game 4 of the 1987 Finals or Game 7 of 2010 Finals.

Given all the adversities of the season, I'm just so proud of this team. Bring back Rondo, AB, Pierce, KG, Bass, Dooling, Green, Wilcox, Etwaun, JJJ, and lets do this again.

LET'S GO CELTICS…clap, clap, clap, clap, clap…. LET'S GO CELTICS!!

  • someguyinsac

I want to thank our Celtics team tonight. Through all the adversities and roadblocks you faced this year, you battled hard and beat expectations, even my own. Thank you for the wonderful season you gave us and hopefully we see most of you back on the team next year. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the heart you showed this year.

    Love you all.

  • Lakershater13

Great season Celtics! I am proud to say I am a Celtics fan!

  • Miggy Migz

Love how Rondo and KG walked off without shaking hands on that school sh!t. Will never forget this group, proud of this whole team regardless of the loss. Sometimes the other guy has more bullets and a new gun, simple as that.

Normally its lets go Celtics… But I think we got a pretty valid reason to say Let's GO THUNDER!

  • Hot Sauce

I'm glad you wrote that title, it made me laugh which at this moment is required.

Your right Lebron as flawed as he can be is an amzing player.

Two words just won't leave my mind though. "Game 6". I felt like we could of won game 6, we had momentum, we just seemed to have deviated away from what had us 3-2 up against the best player in the world. Game 6 was the real elimination game for us and I would just like to know why we lost that, any idea's?

All in all though this team has been fantastic to watch and has been just incredible so thank you to the Big 3 and Rondo and all the supporting cast throughout the ages for what has been a truly inspirational run.

  • KG

Your website blows, ur a celtics fan and the night we lose u post a lebron james pic on here calling him best player on the planet ur not fan your a phony. A real fan would have posted something about the big 3, not heat bullshit

    • someguyinsac

How do you figure that stupidity? Unlike the Heat blog would give the credit to us if we won, at least we have the class to do this. Twerp!

  • ElRoz

I'm proud of the Celtics, and how they fought the whole season, overcame adversity of injuries, and fought valiantly in the playoffs.

    THANK YOU Celtics !!!

P.S. Hope to see many familiar faces next season, with Rondo, Bradley, KG, Green, Bass starting line-up and a solid bench that is 1/2 made up of actual starters.

  • ElRoz

I feel fortunate to be a Celtics fan and not of some other franchise.

    • Lantrell Walker

Same here, we've learned the true value of grit & balls by watching this team over the last few years, something I doubt I'd appreciate if I was born in another city like Miami or Los Angeles

  • Rich

    Get Rondo help.

  • Matthew

I am 22 years old. I went to my first celtics game when i was 4, and have been over 160 games since then. I was at the game 5 against the Nets when we had the biggest playoff comeback ever. I was at the game 7 duel b/w lebron and pierce when 45 points weren't enough to beat the Cs. I was at the overtime thrillers with chicago. At every home game in the two finals against the lakers. I was at the game when we knocked lebron out of cleveland — 20 feet away when he threw his jersey.
And I just wanted to offer my thoughts as I reflect after tonight's loss:

this is really sad….but what an era— watching the heat barely pretend to act like a team as they got the ECF trophy only reaffirmed how amazing this celtics team was…

i remember all those series we lost against the nets, with the chants of 'wife-beater'…
all those years when our 'inside presence' was ex-KGB guy named Potapanko…
when our coaches were a mix of glorified college coaches and apathetic white guys…
when our 'spark plug scorers' were brats like ricky davis and 'toine…
when our point guard couldn't shoot OR pass…
when paul pierce looked destined to end up retiring as just another mid-tier superstar like Igoudala or even Carmelo, instead of a winner, a leader, and a hall of famer…
when the most exciting part of the game was finding the all-beef dogs on the premium level, or seeing how quickly you could make it out of the parking garage….
but we still went — always having a blast — and hoped that maybe next year it would be different…

we were due for a real team and we got it.

5 amazing years that will make me a diehard celtics fan for the rest of my life

Also, in case this email sounds too positive, let me end my saying this:
I hope the heat get swept and lebron goes postal and demands wade gets traded and then never wins and eventually gets injured and dies penniless, lonely, and ugly – with a gap tooth and heroine habit….and forever becomes a cautionary tale for young ball players with big egos and incredible abilities. like one of those cautionary tales that start: "back in the day, way before you were born, we let 18 year old boys come into the NBA, until this one young superstar from Akron…."

    • someguyinsac

Savor every moment, they come and go like the wind. Thanks for being a younger fan of the greatest NBA franchise in history too.

  • LACelticFan

Ok we had a great season despite all of the injuries. Lesser franchises would've folded. Looking forward to the offseason, get healthy guys and we will try it again next year. Well, with a somewhat different lineup, lol.

  • CelticsBIG3

Numb. All good things must come to an end unfortunately. That said, I won't be watching the NBA Finals.

    • misel

same here. i love perk, but i can't stand westbrook; the entire miami organization makes me sick, so yeah, i'll pass.

  • IBleedGreen

    Let’s go Celtics!!!

  • Batman

I love all of you guys
I don't even remember my first days on CelticsHub, where have the days gone
New faces, both here and on the team
Real emotional right now, I choked up around halfway through the fourth
Its been a real real great run for us all
Now lets hope Perkins gets a 2nd ring!

    • someguyinsac

I'm down with Perk getting #2 at the Heats expense, would love it really as a consolation prize. =)

    • Anthony

No need to be choked up, this team still has a lot left and will still be a great team next season. The kind of strides that we've seen from Rondo and AB only leaves me optimistic. No way I see KG playing on any other team. Pierce will be back healthier next season. The rest of the supporting cast also played with alot of heart. The way the team played and are coached, how can free agents not want to come here and play. This team will be back even stronger next year.

  • High Rollers

    Second that, Batman.

  • JR99

It was great to see how much these guys really love each other. Selfless on the court and off the court. I think Rondo felt worse for Doc than for himself.

Way I see it… Fate hit this team hard and often this season, and over and over again they got up off the floor to fight again. In the end, they were outmatched by a fully healthy team (once Bosh got back)…. while we lost 3 guys completely, and had at least two other guys playing through pain. Winning means a lot, yes… but fighting with courage and honor is important too. Maybe more important, in the end.

These guys will always be winners. We know it, and they will know it too.

  • iceman

I don't want to sound melodramatic, but watching Ray Allen's postgame interview broke my heart.

  • washingtondcboy

congrats to the celtics…. just like game 7 against the lakers in 2010… they folded up in the end after gettin in the forefront early in the game… but they put up a good fight despite the adversities…. looking forward to a healthy and competitive team next season… i hope i will see KG in the lineup next year together with a strong no. 5 in the mold of a dwight howard….

  • carlosr

At least we lost to a superior team… In 7 Games!. Go Celts!!

  • carlosr

The only thing that hurts me about the "Big three era" is that injuries prevented them from gaining at least 2, maybe 3 championships, instead of just one. Think about it… KG 2009, Perkins 2010, Shaq and Rondo 2011 However, these have been a magnificent 5 years.

  • Leek

Lets go thunder u sound like a retard stop having sour grapes!

  • itsshawtime

if only the celtics can hear our cheers here in the philippines… let's go celtics!

  • Only thing I can say on this right now is the following: at least now, since I currently live in OKC, I won't be looked at funny for rooting against the home team. I'd rather openly back the Thunder to a title, because Miami should have lost in 5 games, and I think even they know it.

  • jack

the league is a sham and I forever revoke my passbas an nba fan. I wont watch a moment of this finals. boston won this in 5 everyone knows it
