But tonight — we get it on.

  • simon

Been a c’s fan for 30 years. Let’s play with spirit and never say die attitude, leave it out on the table and see what happens. Attack, attack and more attack. Let’s go c’s.

  • Lola
  • Kivanc

5 more to go. Let's pull this one out.
    LET'S GO CELTICS.

  • CelticsBIG3

Lets go above the odds and make the NBA send all those OKC Beat the Heat shirts to countries where people need clothing.

  • someguyinsac

Lets wipe out the bad memories of game 6 with a superhuman effort and a win.

  • CG12

Paging Dr. Doodis. Dr. Les Doodis to Miami, please.

  • cowboy

Let's get this party started. If the Celtics' shot is falling we win. If the shot isn't falling and they drive it to the hole. We win. If they chuck up miss after miss after miss we lose.

  • spencer1233

I seriously think I'm going to puke. I've never been this nervous before a game, ever. There's just so much on the line tonight….from one extreme to another. Tonight will signal yet another NBA Finals berth or it will result in the end of an amazing era.

Let's go Celtics! Let's go Celtics!

  • Batman

Like Rondo's hopefully is, My focus will be 110%
When we're all back for the postgame, I'm hoping we'll all be happy and cheering instead of sad and crying
    Celtics win

    • CelticsBIG3

Me too. I don't want to spend my Saturday night crying on my couch.

  • Switcharoo

    LET’S
    GO
    CELTICS!!!
This is it folks make it memorable for better or worse.

  • greenboner

someone get the word to doc that he should sacrifice sean williams and have him take out joey crawford in the first minute.

  • I_Love_Green

Alright guys. Here it is. This could potentially be the last game of the big 3 era, and as sad as that sounds, its an extreme possibility. Obviously I have faith we win tonight, but I just want to remind all of you that this could be it for our guys. Please all enjoy the game, but also take it all in if this truly is it.

I would've never thought we'd be in this position 3 months ago, but here we are and I'm so damn proud of all of them. Lets go to OKC baby.

And no matter what, no matter the score, LETS GO CELTICS!

    • spencer1233

      Very well said.

(Try to) Enjoy every second of this game no matter what…this Celtics team is one of the most special ever. Win or lose, they gave us fans something memorable.

  • CelticsBIG3

I'm already overwhelmed, this has been a HUGE part of my life over the last 5 years.

    • spencer1233

Amen. Mine as well. I will ALWAYS be a Celts fan, but these past several seasons have been special and to think it could all be over in less than 3 hours saddens me. But I'm not counting on that being the case…

      Let's do this boys.

  • lakershater13

    “Let’s do it!” -KG

  • Morpheus

What the F, who the F is Chris Palmer: “the basketball gods owe us LeBron vs Durant”

    Pathetic.

  • JR99

Well, Pierce continuing where he left off….. ugh

  • skeeds

Ok I'm gonna say this now, 9 minutes into the game. We are ballin, and we're carrying some serious swagger. Game 7, against the runaway favorites, in their building, playing hurt. Whatever happens till the end of the game, I've rarely been more proud of a team than right now.

This is it boys, year 5 of a 3 year plan.
Let's scare them out of their own arena.

    Grit and Balls. Go C's.

  • someguyinsac

I'm good with this start, now let's keep it up.

  • Ryan DeGama

It's two entirely different Boston teams with KG on the court and off.

    • skeeds

every time KG sits, I die a little inside.
Thank god for those loooong tv timeouts, because KG ain't taking many rests in this game.

  • spencer1233

I sure hope he doesn't pick up his 3rd foul, otherwise you'll be dead by halftime.

  • JR99

    PP finding the range… whew!

  • spencer1233

    Ain't that the Truth.

  • cowboy

Good first quarter. Now let's keep it up.

  • JR99

Scott Foster is an associate of Tim Donaghy, isn't he?

  • cowboy

I am liking Hollins and Garnet on the floor at the same time.

  • someguyinsac

    Bass for first half MVP!

  • JR99

If Foster would stop calling fouls on KG, he should be nice and rested for the 2nd half

  • cowboy

    Brandon Bass is playing….. Great.

  • cowboy

I sure didn't see any push from Pierce on Lebron on that rebound.

    • JR99

The calls are all over the place. KG moves his butt the wrong way and it's a foul, other times they swallow their whistles. One of those games

  • IBleedGreen

Loving the first half. Now we just need a little more KG in the 2nd and will be playing in the Finals.

  • IBleedGreen

I need the poster with Bass posterizing Wade on my wall.

  • JR99

It'll prob be KG vs. Lebron in the 2nd half. If Ray, Paul and Rondo can do their thing too, this should end well

  • someguyinsac

Weather the storm, weather the storm you knew was coming.

  • jman

As I figutred, Heats 3 all-stars getting them back into the game…Good 2nd half calls refs…Really enjoyed them
No matter how the game ends the C's proved everyone wrong this year and I hope Ainge and the 3 ca figure something out for next year…Hate to see an ending to these years…

  • cowboy

It is a tie game now. We need to come out of this time out with a run.

  • WTF

Here it comes… Withstand it and execute, bucket for bucket, then we'll be fine.

  • skeeds

    keep it together now…

  • WTF

Turn overs are killing both teams at different times.

  • JR99

We're gonna live or die with Paul Pierce

  • JR99

I'd love for Paul to stick to defending Lebron, leave the offense to Ray, Rondo and KG

  • someguyinsac

Nice little anecdote, Manny P is in our corner and let his good vibes drive us harder. =)

  • spencer1233

I don't like the way this is playing out…

    • spencer1233

Fatigue is creeping in – they're getting to basket with ease. And overall play is getting sloppy.

    • someguyinsac

RR 3 pointer, what's not to like? ;0

      • spencer1233

If we need Rondo to hit 3's to keep us in this game…well…lol oh man.

Tied going into 4th quarter….Jon Barry predicted Heat would pull away a few minutes into last quarter. Damn I hope he's wrong.

        • someguyinsac

I'll go with the homer response, of course he's wrong. ;)

  • JR99

Paul– stay out of the offense. Ray– get free, get hot. Rondo– DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE. KG– post up, big guy.

  • someguyinsac

No matter how this last 12 minutes ends up, I'm proud of our Celtics team.

  • JR99

Please… let Ray shoot, Paul just drive and defend

  • WTF

Win or lose, this game fills the bill of a game 7.

  • spencer1233

How many dunks have we given up tonight?!? WTF

  • WTF

Pierce? Every possession is precious now!

  • JR99

Paul Pierce — will either kill us or save us. So far, it's a little of both.

    • JR99

      Mostly killing us

  • WTF

    All downhill from now?

  • spencer1233

The beginning of the end…you can feel it slipping away.

  • JR99

It's win or go home…. win or go home guys. Rondo: drive man. KG, post. Paul… just defend. Ray, you gotta hit those shots. It's now or never. Once more unto the breach, boys

  • WTF

That's it! The Cs will lose. I hate their body language. Where is Pierce? If you don't not close out a team when you should, here is punishment. The Cs deserve the defeat.

  • Moxie

Can't buy a bucket, can't get a stop. Ah well. The Cs are still my guys.

  • Leeboo1211

New chant for OKC: Sweep the Heat!

  • someguyinsac

Well, the C's are still winners to me and I'm proud of the fight they put up in this game. Thank You to all of them for the last 5 years of excitement and the heartburn games too. You've got the heart of champions, no matter what to me.

  • JR99

2 minutes, 12 points…… nobody hitting their shots…. it looks bad. It was a glorious run by a decimated team. If we had been healthy… hell, if only Bradley hadn't gone down… different outcome. As it is, it was a pleasure following these guys.

  • WTF

This loss is on Doc and Pierce. You never let Bass guard James after one or at most two possessions proved he couldn't. The Pierce turnover in the early 4th quarter just killed any offensive momentum the Cs had, and he disappeared from action.

    • spencer1233

I was just about to post the exact same thing about Bass on James. I couldn't agree more…the Heat pulled away once they started spreading the floor and had James blow by Bass over and over again. We couldn't get stops and we sure couldn't score. So frustrating.

  • Moxie

Right now I am just gonna sit and be zen and watch and appreciate what could be the Big 3's last minute together.

  • JR99

I hope they put an asterisk next to Miami's name in the Finals…. *REFEREES STOLE GAME 2, WITHOUT WHICH MIAMI LOST THE ECF IN 5 GAMES

    • someguyinsac

That was a most irksome game, the C's should have won that one.

  • noche

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

I have a eulogy for the big three written. Maybe I'll post it. Maybe I won't. Either way this 2012 run was fun. See you all in the off season – let's go PERKINS.

  • WTF

Damn, why didn't Doc let them in until the last minute? I think it suits them.

  • skeeds

I am 100% ok with this loss. The Heat after all proved to be the better team with Bosh healthy.

damn it. Hope the Thunder floor them.

    • JR99

Yes… with Bosh in the lineup and our roster decimated…. they're the better team. If we were healthy? Whole other story. But it's over… great run by our guys against very daunting odds.

      • skeeds

No argument there whatsoever. I'm only judging the teams I saw on the floor.

  • X-RIP-X

Thank you guys – It's been one hell of a ride!

  • Anthony

Man, this game sucks. It was still a hard fought game so it doesn't rank in my top 5 heartbreaking games. For me, it's nowhere near Game 4 of the 1987 Finals or Game 7 of 2010 Finals.

Given all the adversities of the season, I'm just so proud of this team. Bring back Rondo, AB, Pierce, KG, Bass, Dooling, Green, Wilcox, Etwaun, JJJ, and lets do this again.

LET'S GO CELTICS…clap, clap, clap, clap, clap…. LET'S GO CELTICS!!

  • Thanks from Germany

The celtics are the best. I never felt so much love (and pain) for a sports team. Thanks for the ride, and hopefully we'll see most of them back for next season. Special thanks to celticshub and the regular commenters! What a unique Franchise!

    • Ryan DeGama

Thanks for reading. Hope to see you comment again!

  • cowboy

I grew up a Celtics fan in southwest Montana. I was stationed in Ft Lewis, WA in the mid 90s. I have seen the Celtics play in person once at Key Arena. I took my dad who was recovering from a heart attack and is also a Celtics fan to his first ever professional sports game. At one time I lived for basketball. I loved the Knicks Heat playoff games. I loved the Payton/Kemp Sonics. Losing the Sonics left a very bad taste in my mouth. If not for the big three I would have given up basketball all together. I am done with the NBA for this year. I refuse to watch OKC games. In fact I have only watched Celtics games for quite some time. I congratulate the Celtics for making this far with all of the injuries. They truly showed the heart of champion. If this is the last game of the big 3 then I just want them to know that saved basketball for this fan. I look forward to the upcoming off season, and the draft. I hope that we can keep our core at a reduced price, and add some key pieces. For all the Criticism Ainge recieves, I think he has done a great job. I look forward to seeing his off season moves. I think if we could come back with Rondo, Bradley, Pierce, Bass, Garnett as our starting 5 with Allen, Moore, Johnson, Stiemsma, off the bench with most of the others replaced I am good.

  • cowboy

I won't watch any of the games, but I am really conflicted on who I want to win. I hate Lebron James and Wade. As you can see from my previous post, I hate OKC. Well actually I don't hate the players on OKC just team management. I really hate Lebron. Go OKC. I can't believe I said that.

  • CelticsBIG3

NBA got their wish. I don't even know how I feel; I'm numb…. totally numb. Where do we go from here? I fucking hate the Miami Heat.

    • cowboy

Celtics, Spurs would have been so much better.

      • CelticsBIG3
