Chris Forsberg reports that Chris Wilcox has not traveled with the team to Los Angeles because a routine heart examination revealed the need for more testing. Chris has no publicized history of cardiac issues, but this is obviously not something with which you play around.

The word “indefinitely” is a scary one, because it implies the possibility of losing Wilcox for the season. But I’m assuming it just means they don’t know the severity of his condition: Chuck Hayes had his contract voided due to a heart condition earlier this year, but further tests revealed he was okay and he ended up not missing any games.

But this is, of course, the second heart issue a Celtics player has dealt with this year, and the other cost Jeff Green his season. Jeff Green’s specific condition was an aortic aneurysm, which is a weakness in the wall of the artery. The Celtics also famously lost Reggie Lewis and Len Bias to heart failure.

Seriously… Man… That is terrible news

I would seriously consider this trade now. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId

I would consider it too but it would be seriously stupid for the Wizards to agree to such a trade.

      Thats not happening.

Sorry to giggle but I don't even know how the machine makes that work. Two reserves for two starters? Good luck with that. But man what bad luck for our squad but what great luck for Wilcox. I mean what other team would've caught this hidden ailment. Our doctors have caught two and possibly saved both men's lives.

I wish Wilcox the best. Hoping for his health to improve quickly.

Lightning can't strike in the same place twice can it?

Hope regains his health quickly, no matter what.

Bias OD'd. He did not die because of heart issue. Did he ? If he didn't OD his jersey would have been retired and a few more banners on the rafter.

I wouldn’t count that trade out 100%. If the grizzlies can give up Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom can get traded away for nothing you never know.

Both those guys are immature morons. Andray Blatche comes into every season fat as sh!t and Javale McGee seriously isn't that great.

Danny Ainge is one unlucky GM when it comes to signing people! Jeff Green, JO, and now Wilcox…..what a failure. Well, I love KG, Ray, and Pierce – but what are their chances NOW w/o Wilcox?

Stiemsma and JJohnson? If Doc playes them, maybe they can do something…Wilcox was a good finisher and an ok rebounder.
