New Jersey Nets 94 Final
Recap | Box Score
107 Boston Celtics
Paul Pierce, SF 32 MIN | 10-14 FG | 4-4 FT | 4 REB | 8 AST | 27 PTS | +25

Pierce had an absurdly efficient night tonight. Nearly a point-a-minute to go with 8 assists and 4 rebounds. Of course, he was trying to prove to Boston fans that Ainge made the right decision keeping him over Gerald Green. Finally, we have some closure.

Brandon Bass, PF 25 MIN | 4-6 FG | 0-0 FT | 3 REB | 0 AST | 8 PTS | +18

Clocked in, clocked out.

Kevin Garnett, PF 27 MIN | 10-13 FG | 0-0 FT | 10 REB | 3 AST | 20 PTS | +23

A 20-10 in only 27 minutes. At this point, it’s probably time to start checking with “multiple sources” to find out exactly what KG did during all-star weekend that’s led to this rejuvenation. Give JO some of what he’s got. And maybe send some over to Brook Lopez (only 3 rebounds) too.

Mickael Pietrus, SF 23 MIN | 4-9 FG | 2-2 FT | 5 REB | 2 AST | 11 PTS | +23

A really nice game for Pietrus, who contributed in multiple areas despite his long-range shooting again being off target. A problem for the Nets on defense, too.

Rajon Rondo, PG 32 MIN | 7-16 FG | 0-2 FT | 2 REB | 13 AST | 14 PTS | +20

First, he humiliated Brandon Jennings on Wednesday. Tonight, he outplayed Deron Williams (who, by the way, ended up -31). Next up: Jeremy Lin, Sunday afternoon.

Keyon Dooling, PG 26 MIN | 2-10 FG | 0-0 FT | 0 REB | 5 AST | 4 PTS | -12

2-10 tonight for the future cap filler. He hasn’t made more than 2 shots in a game since January 11th.

Chris Wilcox, PF 28 MIN | 4-6 FG | 6-7 FT | 7 REB | 1 AST | 14 PTS | -10

Wilcox has his mojo working although his rebounding numbers weren’t as gaudy as in recent outings. Still, he’s playing with energy and passion and had another 3 offensive rebounds tonight. A key part of the offensive renaissance of the team lately.

Sasha Pavlovic, SF 16 MIN | 1-3 FG | 1-2 FT | 3 REB | 0 AST | 3 PTS | -8

At least as mercurial in output as Rondo is in temperament.

Greg Stiemsma, C 13 MIN | 0-3 FG | 0-0 FT | 6 REB | 0 AST | 0 PTS | -1

Has picked up his energy since the break, after struggling for a full month.

Avery Bradley, SG 13 MIN | 1-3 FG | 0-0 FT | 0 REB | 3 AST | 2 PTS | 0

Making better choices with the ball; still remains Avery Bradley.

It was really nice to have a game that was almost entirely free of any drama. The bencmh still looked a bit rough at times but I absolutely loved the feistiness on defense. More of that please.

The bench looked rough cause two of our bench players started, but I get what you are saying handsome.

ummmm and why exactly is keyon dooling getting more minutes than moore? steisma more than jj again?

    • Jzm

Agreed on the first, but Stiemsma is a center, JJJ is a PF. No way would JaJuan be able to guard Brook Lopez.

KG brilliant again! Finally Paul with a good scoring game. He's still way to lazy handling the ball for some reason.

Nobody wants to be a Bradley

    It's the HEADBAND.

This team is simply……. I dunno. It was new jersey but from the sheer fact that we did EVERYTHING and ANYTHING we wanted out there makes me scratch my head a little.

    Oh well!

    Go C's

if you guys thought our trades were stupid…

… check these out. I think the kidprince22 or whatever writes for ESPN

It is official. The headband is what gives Rondo his powers. He will need it the rest of this season.

Seriously… Can we get a Player GPA? I think that'd be pretty cool to see who you guys have given the best grades thus far..

    just sayin.

This is something we have on tap for the end of the season.

Terrific win tonight for the C’s..maybe it’s a little stepping stone in the right direction for our guys…anyone else notice the vintage 20-10 KG of late?? The man is proving that he has some left in the tank. Hopefully we win out through the trade dead line without any major moves and get to the playoffs to make some noise…GO CELTICS

I think Steamer got more run because of the Nets length (their pivot players are not great, but they are long). Dooling and Moore, both scare me when they over dribble….accidents waiting to happen.

I thought Sasha looked good and I felt bad for Quis not being able to get off the pine. Dang, poor guy.

KG is having a great season. DO NOT TRADE HIM!!!

    • ozcelts

KG is the least likely of the big 4 to be traded- his contract has too many zeros

  • CelticsBIG3

I hope nobody gets traded. I want to see what this group can do in the playoffs if healthy.

  • As you see Kalamazoo Loy Norrix has a lot of promising perlyas, well here’s another one,and get this she’s a girl. Jalissa Huntley is a up coming varisty player she averages 17.9 points 3.5 rebounds and 5.7 steals. coming in at only 5 2 she might be small but she can ball, she is also a very fast gaurd. When you need something quick to happen give her the ball, and watch her go. Other gaurds arent quick enough yet!
