PREGAME NOTES FROM TD GARDEN:

  • Drew Gooden will be a game-time decision for Milwaukee after leaving last night’s game in the third quarter after a hard foul. Luc Mbah a Moute will also be out after injuring his left shoulder against Washington. Stephen Jackson is not with the team as he rests his strained right hamstring back in Milwaukee. He could be out for up to two weeks.
  • Jermaine O’Neal will miss his third straight game for Boston with a lingering left wrist injury and there is no timetable on his return after seeing a hand specialist today. “He saw an hand expert today,” Doc Rivers said. “I haven’t talked to trainer Eddie [Lacerte] about it, but he’s out tonight.”
  • The C’s will stick with their new-look starting lineup with Brandon Bass at the power forward spot and Kevin Garnett shifting to center for the second straight night. The lineup could become a regular fixture for Boston as Rivers admitted he was considering switching the starting five even before O’Neal’s injury. “I like this lineup. I was thinking about doing it regardless. We got out to a great start last night, we just couldn’t sustain it [against Cleveland],” Rivers admitted.

Would be great to beat the Cavs and Bucks back to back, the two teams fighting for our spot.

  • CelticsBIG3

    Sure would.

    • CelticsBIG3

Seem like this blog is losing steam with commentors lately or just me?

      • IBleedGreen

You can definitely count good centers in the NBA in one hand…

        • IBleedGreen

Oops…I meant to reply to the post below.

  • ripsonics

    Kinda yeah CB3..

But I will say i was pretty surprised to hear that Drew Gooden is the third highest scoring starting center in the league.. and he is living up to that title tonight.. MY GOD the man can't miss.

You guys see the chris broussard insider article on espn boston today… very interesting.

    • CelticsBIG3

The sunny weather fans are craping out. Probably didn't have to watch the Celtics from 1993 until 2008

      • JCP

I think there's been a lack of consistent new content on the site, too, and that makes people not visit the site as often. But… the losing streaks probably don't help either.

      • smalltownID

The steelhead are running so little time to comment. And it is true that the information is way behind the 8-ball on this site lately. I thought it would be buzzing like crazy with the Rondo shopping going on. I can't believe there is not a single comment on it. I thought living in Idaho we got everything weeks late. :)

        • CelticsBIG3

this is true, but we all have enough to say to fill it the blanks ha ha

  • IBleedGreen

WOW haven't see the offense this good for a long time. We just can't miss.

  • I_Love_Green

    Well that was fun.

  • I_Love_Green

And then we make it not so fun. GOD DAMNIT

  • Batman

When we rebound, we get to run
When we run we run the offense through Rondo
When we run the offense through Rondo we win
When we win we have fun

    • ripsonics

Wise words from my favorite super hero of all time.

  • I_Love_Green

THAT'S NOT HOW I WANTED IT TO GO BUT A WIN IS A WIN!

    • CelticsBIG3

Rondo did the same crap when I was at the garden vs the bulls a few weeks back. He's done it many times before… Walking the ball up the floor with a big lead, screwing around wasting clock time forever. That garbage costs us leads. PUSH THE DAMN BALL, PUSH THE DAMN BALL!!!!! Stay aggressive!!!

      • Batman

Did you watch the game? Do you know why Rondo disappears in the 4th? its because Doc reverts to the peek-a-boo offense where we send 20 seconds trying to set up Ray

        • CelticsBIG3

I'm not stating that that isn't what is happening, I'm stating that it needs to stop happening. Keep your foot on the gas. This team has a tendency of believing teams are going to quit when they fall behind. This is not the case.

  • CelticsBIG3

KG not getting an A plus grade tonight will be criminal

    • yougotrondod

and highlights that don't include the double behind the back pass rondo sent to bass in the fourth quarter (that he couldn't complete) would also be criminal

    • Anthony

Didnt watch the game but seemed like vintage KG. And he played well last night too so that's a great sign. KG keeping his end of the deal from the player only meeting.

Hate blowing the early 16pt lead against Cavs yesterday and nearly blown 15pt lead tonight. In 1:57min no less. But a win is a win so cant complain too much.

In case any one didn't notice, Celts are only 2 games back in the lost column from the Sixers. Don't want to jinx anything but Celts can realistically be leading the Atlantic division by the time they face the Sixers. **just trying to stay optimistic

It's too bad Lamar Odom probably won't be bought out by the Mavs. It would be awesome to get him on this team.

    • I_Love_Green

Dude is an emotional wreck right now, and is having a terrible year. No thank you…

      • guest

Only because he is on a team he doesn't want to be on right now. If he actually wanted to be on the C's I don't think it could hurt.

  • lakershater13

A win is a win. Not as bad of a nail biter as last night.

I cannot wait until March 16th. I just want to know what the Cs roster will look like on that day so all of us fans can stop worrying about what Danny may do. We will all be able to stop reading horrible unrealistic trade rumors.

    • Anthony

I wonder if the dude that keeps posting the Hasheem Thabeet trade will continue the same postings after the trade deadline. Or suggest getting him for next season. LOL.

      • CelticsBIG3

Ha ha, we should definitely trade for stephen jackson though, considering he is due to miss 2-3 weeks with a hamstring (sarcasm)

        • guest

We should really trade for Andrew Bogut and then trade JO for Lebron James while we are at it.

  • CG12

The Cs pace of play and execution late in games in one of the biggest questions / mysteries about this team. Does Rondo set up shop 15 feet from the top of the key because Doc makes him? Or does he tighten up and lose his aggressiveness because he is worried the other team will force him to take jumpers? I have no idea, but I do know that I absolutely hate when the offense runs like that. For most of the game there seem to be multiple options off set plays – if the D overplays Ray coming off a screen, Rajon can penetrate the seam or try to get it inside to a big man. In late game situations that stops happening. There is a happy medium between Rondo's head-shaking TO which directly led to Jennings's second late 3 and the paralytic force-it-to-Ray offense, but the Cs don't seem to be able to find it.
