If loving the highlights is wrong, I don’t want to be right.
3. KG’s Clever Horse Shot
If you have the right audio equipment (you don’t), you can actually isolate Kevin Garnett’s voice from the surrounding crowd noise. Just before he releases the jumper, he calls out “rim, bank, swirl, swish.” This was a big one as it put the damper on the Cleveland comeback and showed once again that KG’s a deadly threat in the post… every now and then.
2. Almost A Fast Break
This is a great example of something Boston does well, but doesn’t get much credit for: the secondary break. Ray Allen’s initial drive is walled off as he attacks but the Celtics quickly swing the ball while the Cavs are still getting organized. Garnett then finds Paul Pierce on a great backdoor cut. Pierce gets a step on Andy Varejao, who’s busy directing Cleveland’s halfcourt defense when he should be help defending. That’s two pretty points, because of the initial hard push.
1. Actually A Fast Break
Four players. Once bounce pass. Two dribbles. Layup.
0. Avery Being Bradley
You know the drill.
