Chris Forsberg reports that Paul Pierce, after potentially saving the Celtics’ season by carrying three wins over the Pacers and Magic, just missed being Player of the Week, the highest honor bestowed in professional sports. That title goes instead to LeBron, largely for his performance in last night’s game:
“James eclipsed the 30-point plateau three times and averaged 7.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.0 steals. Miami upended Chicago 97-93 on Jan. 29 to close the week behind James’ 35 points, 11 rebounds and five steals.”
Of course, yesterday was Sunday, which was the first day of this week. Not the last day of last week. So.
