Post-game Reactions

After Doc Rivers hinted at trimming down the roster to 14 bodies last night, the Boston Celtics made it official after practice this afternoon, cutting swingman Gilbert Brown, and big man Michael Sweetney. While the C’s like Brown, and always enjoy two weeks of Sweetney in training camp, it’s apparent the C’s want to be ready to pounce on any interesting free agent that becomes available in the upcoming days as final cuts/buyouts are done.

For now, the C’s will hold strong at 14 on the roster, as Greg Steimsma looks to be the training camp invitee that has earned himself a spot thanks to his size and standout play last night.

Stay tuned to the upcoming days to CelticsHub for the latest on how Boston may end up filling this open spot on the free agent market.

pietrus got waved if bos dont sign him we riot ok….OK

  • ElRoz

Just heard that he got waived…good defensive player, lengthy, can shoot the three (otherwise his field goal% is bad)…could be quite good as defensive back-up to Pierce and allow Boston to use Marquis as a Shooting Guard…either way, Marquis and Pietrus would be pretty good of the bench.

Maybe Posey could be had for a low price? A back-up SF off the bench will – again – allow them to plya Daniels as a SG.

Pietrus maybe, Posey no. He hasn't been relevant for two years. Plus he's not a good offensive option for a second unit that is already offensively challenged.

Posey would be great…or how about Leon Powe coming back?

We have too many pcs as it is. As much as I love powe, there’s no room. We either need a C or a 2/3
