An absurd three days of rest between Games 2 and 3 slot Saturday’s contest into a preferred weekend primetime national slot for ABC, but otherwise a pretty generic schedule for the two heavyweights. For now, let the breakdowns begin.

  • Joe

    CAN'T WAIT

  • someguyinsac

Looking forward to it, it's been a long week without C's basketball.

    • Janos

      is good hockey week too

      • someguyinsac

        Especially today.

        • I_Love_Green

          We beat those damned Habs.

  • Batman

Guys…..we are major underdogs….but since we are all Celtics Homers we know who is going to walk out of this series…….TTTTTTTTTHEEEEEEEEEEEEE BOSSSTOOOOOOOOON CEEEELTICSSSS
Our charge for Banner 18 will not be stopped!!!
    Rondoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • Batman

Also that picture should have Rondo in it…..The Big 3 vs the Big 4

    • Matty

Amen. As Rondo goes, so do the Celts.

  • James Patrick

Exactly or how bout the wanna be Big 3! And here's a new one… let's SWEEP THE HEAT!!!

  • Batman

If we beat Miami we are going to steamroll the Bulls, I'm calling it

    • Dan

I agree. I'm way more worried about Miami/Lakers than Chicago. If Rondo can do his Rondo things on DRose, I like our chances.

      • Matty

Good points. If Rondo is solid, he can neutralize a lot of DRose's game. Talentwise the rest of the C's have the edge over the rest of the Bulls. Apart from Deng and an inconsistent Noah, Bulls come up short in the rest of this matchup.

Apart from Rose, the biggest threat from the Bulls is Thibideau. He knows the C's playbook and he's a hell of a coach. His research and preparation is second to none. He has his guys running all of their opponents plays and all the options off those plays in practice. he's the number one reason the Bulls are contenders. Rose is #2.

  • I_Love_Green

CELTICS BABY!!!!!!!!! LETS GO!!! LETS GOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

    We win games 1, 3, 4, and 6.

    WE GOT THIS SON!!!!

    • BOS 17 LA 11

      My feelings exactly.

  • Janos

Grizzly ref no good. Is big cheat! better not get miami cheat against us?

  • I_Love_Green

    Tony Allen, for 3!….

    Doesn't even hit rim. Hahaha

    • Matty

T.A. was mostly a good fit for the C's. Grizzles are up and coming. They and OKC might be the new shift f power in the West the next few years. LAL and SA look really vulnerable now and the near future.

  • someguyinsac

Off topic I know, but that was quite an entertaining Spurs-Grizzlies game tonight.

    • I_Love_Green

Feel bad for the Grizz though. They were so close to finishing it.

      • someguyinsac

Yeah me too, but the Spurs got the lucky bounces tonight didn't they?

        • Mike

Well they should've foul there. Up 3 with 1 sec left you should foul and basically win the game.

          • someguyinsac

I half expected that, but it's a gamble as always with so little time left.

          • Dan

Or why doesn't ZBo miss that free throw at the end? 1.7 seconds left… no way they have enough time to rebound and put in a half-court heave.

          • CsFanInArkansas

If Randolph missed the FT, I'm pretty sure the Spurs would not have pulled a JJ Reddick and would have called an immediate timeout – which would allow them to advance the ball…which puts them in the exact same position except a 2 ties the game and a 3 wins it.
So – Randolph definitely did not need to miss the FT.

  • Mike

Well they were outscored in the paint by like 30 points by philly, who by the way are really tiny. That proves number one that Shaq will be huge, number Rondo has to slice them open, We also have to rebound . We are much better than them lets show that the big 3 are in Boston and play in green!

    • MP!

I'm not convinced Shaq will play.

      • Devang

        I hope he doesn't!
Let me put it better, I hope we don't need him to play yet! 😀
I can't believe that stupid Chris Bosh is called part of the big two. He sucks!

  • jz andamun

wow..its heat vs C's…I cant wait for the Games 1..too sad its 4:30 am in the Philippines ,I need to wake up early to watch the game..

    Go Heat, Go Heat……..

From Purefoods to Cavaliers to Miami Heat

    • Jackie

Wow talk about a real bandwagoner…

    • Moxie

Way to give your country a bad name.

  • Cleveland Cavalier nation is fully supporting the Boston Celtics. First and last time.

    • Paul

Naaaaahhh! You ll support again next year for the second thumping of the Heat

  • Matty

I'm going out on a limb. C's in five! Garnett trumps Bosh, Rondo trumps Bibby, Ray just slightly trumps D-Wade, Pierce slightly loses to LeBron. Centers are a push unless Shaq shows up or JO has numbers like he did against the Knicks in Game 1. Bench edge to Celts. Baby, West and Green are showing signs of life. The C's Big Three know that this is prob their last chance and they're especially hungry after losing last year like they did.

Plus, the Celtics start fast, have been having great third quarters and are closers in the clutch. For all their self-professed greatness, the Heat still give away games bc they're slow to start. That may get you by the 76'ers but not Boston. Number 18 is on it's way.

    Go Celtics.

  • Mike

Not to rain on your Celtics parade, and I'm a huge Celtics fan, but I dont think you can say Ray slightly trumps D-Wade. Ray can be hot, but D wade can take over games.

    • Mike

Err Ray is more than capable of defending wade yet wade can't run after and guard Ray. This match uo is a toss up.

      • BOS 17 LA 11

I think this was a prediction for the series, not a straight up comparison of the players. Generally speaking, yes- Wade > Allen…but can Ray play well enough in this series to offset Wade? Absolutely, and I'll go so far as to say that if he shoots as lights out as he did vs. NY (unlikely), Wade will be lucky to match him.

  • Far East Man

Ray can take over games too, y'know! Go celts!

  • Dave

Da Bulls fans are rooting for you guys as well! Go get' em, will see you in the next round.

    • JCP

Ha! If you'd rather face a team who is known for getting it done in the playoffs over a team whose best player is known for quitting in the playoffs, than it would seem that I've been overestimating the intelligence of Bull's fans.

For the record, I'm not rooting for either team in your series, we'll get through whichever of you is left over.

    • Jade

Yeah… you're basically saying you think we'd be the weaker opponent for you guys, so your "well wishes" aren't welcome here.

    • Matty

I'm a big-time C's fan, but I'd love to see that matchup even though I'm more confident of beating the Hawks. I think they're definitely the two best teams in the East. Celtics have an advantage of more depth and experience. You guys have the youth and the MVP. It'll be a series for the ages! See you next round.

  • Zee
