Post-game Reactions

Okay so when Ryan came aboard he started this great thing called The Weekly Wrap.  This would be a wrap-up of the more pertinent posts written here on CelticsHub over the past week as well as any links to work we’ve done on other sites.  Somehow we have fallen off the wagon when it comes to doing these wrap-ups and I would like to revive it.  So without further ado, let’s take a look at some posts we wrote over the last month or so:

The biggest news of the season just happened to occur about a month ago.  As you all know, Kendrick Perkins was traded away to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Nenad Krstic and Jeff Green.  You may not know this, but blogger-superstars Matt Moore and Rob Mahoney run an awesome audio blog called “Voice On The Floor”.  Matt asked me to talk about the trade and what it meant for the city of Boston in an installment you can listen to here:

Earlier this month, the TrueHoop Network pretty much took over the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics conference.  Neil Paine of Basketball-Reference.com was cool enough to aggregate all the posts written by the Network but if you want to read the stuff written specifically by CelticsHub writers, be sure to check out these:

CelticsHub has also been all over HoopSpeak as well.  If you don’t know HoopSpeak by now, you should.  HoopSpeak.com is an NBA blog started by Ethan Sherwood Strauss and Beckley Mason.  It’s funny, informative, and best of all:  it’s doing a Basketball Culture 101 college course.   Ryan, Hayes, and myself have all written papers for this class and these can be read and critiqued here:

Speaking of Ethan and Beckley, they are two of my compadres in ESPN’s new weekly series TrueHoop TV.  In case you missed them, here are the first few episodes:

Deron Williams vs Carmelo Anthony in a Trade Battle to the death:

Who is the best in the East (guess who I picked):

Lakers vs. Heat:

Coaches League or Players League?:

These can be seen pretty much every Wednesday on ESPN.com/NBA.  Tomorrow’s episode is about revisiting the Carmelo Anthony trade.

And here is the triumphant return of The Tommy Point.  And how could we not pick this gem from Friday’s loss to the Houston Rockets.  Tommy becomes incensed when Chase Budinger flops badly and says a word he probably can’t say on TV.  Can you guess what it is?

"…excuse the language…" Very Funny Tommy!!!

LOL Tommy makes me laugh.. I actually invented a drinking game based on his calls. Every time Tommy disagrees with a call, you take 1 drink. If he disagrees with a call, and it was the right call, you take 2 drinks. Every time he loses it and says "Give me a break!" you finish your drink. 😀

You would die every game. That's like drinking when they say the F bomb in Goodfellas. After the 1st quarter you would be dead lol.

Hate to be that guy, but it's "Without further ado"– not "adieu".

      it's a pun..I was bidding everyone farewell too much…

And don't worry about being "that guy", if you were "that guy" you'd be making some claim about how malapropisms affect credibility or wondering about how an imbecile such as myself could be affiliated with ESPN. A lot of times these get written late at night or in the wee hours of the morning when our brains are soft and spongy. We try to catch everything but sometimes we just don't. Anything that gets mentioned in the comments, we try to fix. The other day in the preview for the Knicks game, I predicted a Bucks loss (taking the easy way out). It happens but thanks for the heads up!
