Some very encouraging news out of the C’s practice facility today in Waltham, where C’s injured starting power forward Kevin Garnett was seen going through a gym workout and practicing shooting by himself on the gym floor. Here’s the full report from Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe:
Just a week after suffering a right calf strain, Kevin Garnett returned to the court today at the Celtics’ practice facility in Waltham to take some jumpers. Garnett wore his customary practice uniform and tights covering his legs but there was no brace or protection for the calf.
Garnett spent about 15 minutes taking his customary elbow shots after working out in the team’s exercise gym.
“I got nothing for you man,” Garnett said when asked to comment. “Besides Happy Holidays.”
A jolly KG is always happy to hear from. This should also put to bed any doubters who believed the C’s were covering up a larger injury here. With the fairly soft home schedule after this week, and Jermaine O’Neal looking better by the game, I hope Garnett takes plenty of time here to heal, even if he is recovering quickly.
