Rajon Rondo Doing Work for NBA2K11

In just another sign that basketball season is on the horizon, NBA2K11 is hitting stores in just three weeks, causing it’s advertising campaign featuring Rajon Rondo to be in full swing. And believe it or not, the one minute commercial featuring Rondo along with Josh Smith and former ex-USA teammates Russell Westbrook, Derrick Rose, and Andre Iguodala….well it’s actually pretty funny.

Funny lines aside, it’s too bad Rondo kind of got the shaft here, being stuck outside for this minute spot with just a couple lines. Overlooked again for the likes of Russell Westbrook and Derrick Rose twice in one summer.

The truth is though, this is really just an excuse to point how just how amazing that Michael Jordan reenactment mode looks like in the game. Flu game? 55 in MSG after his return from retirement? Yes, please.

I’ll even get a kick out of putting up 63 against the C’s back at the Old Garden with the knowledge that the Larry Legend and company pulled out that win anyway and swept the series. October 5th is the release date people, but I have to know, C’s allegiance aside, am I the only one psyched to play this mode?

  • no interest in this at all. i’ll wait for 2k12.

They still can’t get MJ’s leaner right and his crossover.

So when is the Bill Russell edition coming out where you have to win 11 championships?

  • is this game the one with NBA Jam on it? Or is that Elite? I know that NBA Jam is exclusively for wii (*weak*) but there is supposed to be a version for 360 piggybacked onto on of the aforementioned titles.

I do love the trash talk going on in the clip. Those are some great lines for all parties involved. Gotta say though that I’m not hyped about this game. Only sports games I’ve ever been able to play and have fun with are NBA Jam and NFL Blitz, just because of the lack of realism of the games. And since I don’t own a newer console, I know I won’t be playing the new Jam version when it gets released, as much as I’d like to see it.

The mode seems pretty interesting, I’ll pass on the game though. I have 2k10 and I don’t see 2k11 as a huge improvement other than rosters

  • I love Green

The demo irks me. We can only play as the Lakers! Against the Celtics! Its horrible. I have to lose everytime.

I love it. It’s great to see that Jordan STILL has a bigger impact than any other current NBA Player. Usually I don’t like playing one on five type of Basketball, but I’ll definately try with MJ. I get a kick out of taking charges against others trying to drive with Lebron all the time. They say defense will be more meaningful in 2K11.

  • I can’t wait to get my hands on this game! I have 2k9 (2K9 is the KG edition, which is now on the wall next to my framed KG picture) & I have 2k10 (which I’ll sell back since it’s Kobe on the cover. We haven’t been able to play as Jordan since NBA Street YEARS ago. I’m psyched to finally play as him and it’s not a version I created. If they didn’t have Jordan in 2K11, I would NOT be buying this game. Who knows if they’ll have Jordan in 2K12 (doubtfull my friends)

  • matt

    i have 2k9 and i thinks its better than 2k11(demo) ….

    @ shut_it_up

That’s NBA Elite that has the NBA Jam on it, ecept for the Wii.

Bummer because there’s no way I’m paying for NBA Elite just to get Jam, and I don’t have the Wii.

anyone else think there was a little knock on LeBron in this? When they mention the game MJ had against Cleveland and Rose goes ‘man, leave Cleveland alone’-almost to say they’ve been through enough crap recently, lol
