Post-game Reactions

Back at the end of the 2005-06 season, Delonte West and Paul Pierce filmed a segment over at Fox Sports Net (Now CSN) together breaking down their own fashion styles and discussing the team’s prospects for the upcoming season.

The five minute interview’s highlights include Delonte discussing “future All-Stars” Tony Allen and Al Jefferson, (2 minute mark) and Paul Pierce anticipating a trip to Europe (3:30) to scout for the team’s trip there for next year, that we all know will go down in history.

An entertaining few minutes if nothing else, and you have the sense that both West and Pierce genuinely get along here. You know Danny wouldn’t have brought in West without the blessing for the key members of his roster, so it’s apparent here just how comfortable Delonte was in Boston back then. Here’s to hoping he can return to that place next season.

Bonus goodness after the jump

You guys all remember the ill-fated leather ball era? The NBA switched in mid-season back to the original design a couple years back and Delonte and a few teammates were asked about the switch back. Hilarity ensued.

Between him, Shaq Shrek and Donkey, that’s going to be an entertaining locker room next year.

What happened when Pierce went to Europe? I only started following the NBA/Celtics in the last 2 years.

You see this over at C-blog?

    I rest my case.

that same summer they put together the Big 3 (Delonte was traded along other pieces for Ray Allen). They held training camp in Rome and that’s where “Ubuntu” was born.

  • Al

wait someone messed up… maybe it was me… are you sure this is 2005-06? or 2006-07?

  • Rob

I’m a little skeptical on the destination of training camp. With the basically brand new bench we should try to build the chemisty over summer

Remember West’s wire hanger promo? It was fantastic.

    Here’s a trade I’d go with…

    nice trade there mark.

problem is that even if you’d go with it the Bucks definitely wouldn’t

  • Mark

@ rav, you are so right!
Danny would have to be lucky to pull off a trade like that. I’m just wishing a similar trade like that would happen. I liked the fact that Mbah a Moute (SF) can rebound, has good size, has a couple of years under his belt and some playoff experience. We need a SF who can keep things even while he’s on the court giving Paul Pierce a rest. If we get a decent backup SF we’ll be contending for another banner.
    Have a good Friday 🙂

This might make Lebron play that much harder against the Celtics now that we have the guy who supposedly diddled his mom. I think this trade/get is not good for the Celtics just because of this alone.

  • Here’s a YouTube clip of D-West that cracks me up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WbZ8IXSb_w

Mark… the Bucks say “Hell no”.

PS. If you know the Bucks wouldn’t do it why even post it?

PS#2 What is Luke Walton doing here? Is he already retired? Maybe he can take the back up SF spot.

  • ondioline

It’s good to see that Celticshub isn’t censoring the story like ESPN is.

The story about Delonte knockin’ boots with LeBron’s mom, that is. And about how that explains LeBron’s late-series lethargy against the Celtics.

HE WENT DEEP IN LEBRON’S MOM.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

    I’D MOVE TO MIAMI TOO!

  • Mark

@ cahuitero, your words are so kind. Thanks for your opinion. Danny has been known to pull of trades like the one for Ray Ray or KG and the Bucks seem to need a backup SG and a first round pick that we do have. Anything can happen and yes it’s unlikely but never say never.
