Post-game Reactions

That’s obviously premature, but the C’s have hired Frank to replace Tom Thibodeau as Doc’s top assistant, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Frank is a defense-first coach whose Joisey offense was never known for its creativity. He’s a nice replacement for Thibs, but the importance of this hiring goes beyond this season. He’s not the favorite to replace Doc Rivers—no one is—but Frank is now in the conversation should Rivers step down after the 2011 season.

And that’s a good thing. He’s young, he’s a worker and he can already coach an elite defense. He’s a nice asset to have.

We’ll have more later.

    Welcome to the Bean Sir Lawrence!!!

    Here’s how I see it playing out. Doc coaches this season. 2011 lockout eats up a full season or close to. Doc gets his year off and comes back with a new contact, loads of cap room, and is the head of the rondo era. Good luck frank.

    Kewl. He was a good head coach for the Netters.

    @Cos:
    Jonesing without a year of Celtics BB? Have a heart man, that’s tough to do.

    With doc taking a few games off during the year. This could be a good sign for us.

    In case you were wondering, the party here in Los Angeles is STILL going.

    Damn, it feels good to be the reigning back-to-back champs.

    As you were.

    hey uh green with envy if that parties still going then how’d you manage to find time to go on the computer and write on blogs…were you not invited? Sorry if that’s a sore subject for you.

    Actually Kevin McHale is the heir apparent to Rivers. That is if McHale wants the job and that is if he does not take a coaching job somewhere else. McHale is actually a very solid coach and it makes alk the sense in the world for him to take over for Doc.

    This guy sucks. I have Nets season tickets. Never heard of a fastbreak and does not let the players play. The players will never get into a flow. Nets fans would always be yelling “Call time out Larry” due to the tremendous amounts of timeouts he would call.
    It is two steps back from Coach T and if he takes over from Doc, we might as well blow up the Garden.

    I’m going with blowing up the Garden.
