Appreciate the Good Things

Last night was frustrating. The C’s missed almost half their foul shots, turned the ball over 18 times, allowed 15 offensive boards and generally couldn’t get any good looks against an active Bulls defense.

Sometimes it’s good to remind ourselves that even in those frustrating games, NBA athletes are doing absolutely insane things—things that get lost amid 90-odd possessions and a focus on the trends of a particular game.

Things like this:

You try throwing a 40-foot cross-court pass off the dribble with your weak hand. And not only that, try throwing that pass on a line not to a player, but to a spot about 10 feet to that player’s left so that the ball meets the player at that spot just as he arrives.

That is a sick, sick pass. Did you even remember it? I probably wouldn’t have, except I stopped the game and recorded it.

In conclusion: Basketball is fun, and Rajon Rondo is awesome.

Yes that was an amazing highlight in a mostly awful game.

    nice clip. a great pass.

even surprised ray, as he let up a bit, then realized it was coming and caught up to the ball, his momentum making him shoot while leaning. noticed the same has happened to perk sometimes.

its like playing with a kidd or nash….or a gretzky or a manning…..always finish your route, cut, angle and be ready for the ball in any situation. he will find you.

Reminded me of the lefty bounce pass he made to Pierce on the fast break a couple games ago. In traffic no less.

Zach, I want you to know that under my favorite quotations on Facebook, it now reads:

“In conclusion: Basketball is fun, and Rajon Rondo is awesome.”

  • @Zachary: But do you credit me? Just kidding. Great name, obviously.

  • Zachary

@Zach Lowe. Agreed; nice work on the name. Yes, I do credit you.
