Post-game Reactions

In a larger column about Doc Rivers and the C’s younger players, Kevin Henkin at Celtics Stuff Live reminds of something Doc said over the weekend:

“When the playoffs start, I am 99 percent sure I will have the regular nine [rotation players] on the floor.”

As Henkin says, I think it’s safe to assume those nine players are the five starters plus Rasheed Wallace, Marquis Daniels, Eddie House and Glen Davis.

Notice a name missing there?

What becomes of Tony Allen when Marquis Daniels gets healthy? Is Allen (and his expiring $2.5 million deal) merely trade bait? Is there a role for him to play when Daniels returns?

Brian Robb is going to try and answer some of those questions this week, but Doc’s comment is worth nothing for now.

This question should probably wait until BRobb’s post but I suppose I’ll propose it here first. If TA’s trade bait, wouldn’t any player the C’s trade for be in the rotation? And if that hold’s true, depending on the player, is Doc going to roll ten deep or is someone getting bounced from the rotation?
