Post-game Reactions

Lester Hudson signed a one-year deal with the team, according to the Herald. But it’s unclear whether the deal is guaranteed, since Mike Sweetney also signed a non-guaranteed deal and will be the 16th player at training camp, according to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette.

The Herald makes it sound like Hudson got a guaranteed deal, but that doesn’t make total sense of the Celtics are inviting other players to training camp.

Quoth the Herald:

Rookie Lester Hudson, who has worked out patiently all summer without a contract, walked onto the floor with a new one-year deal in hand.

“I was very anxious about it,” he said. “But it’s a great feeling. I got to work out with all of the guys on this team.”

Hudson appears to be the last guard – and the 15th man – on the roster.

Still—no reports about any other guards landing camp invites. Just Sweetney, who has no shot to make a team already crowded with front court players. I wonder why the invite, then?

We’ll update on Hudson once the facts become clearer.

I dream of a day when the Celts can stick these guys on the Red Claws and if someone gets hurt they can be “called up.” Think of all the rags riches headlines. Plus, I’m a sucker for Sweetney.
