Post-game Reactions

Well, s***. That’s the only reaction I have time to post right now to the news that KG is likely out for the season. Doc first spilled it on a WEEI interview today, and the Globe recaps that interview here.

Quotes:

“After watching him run, there’s no way. So, we’re going to move without him. And the way I saw him move today guys, I don’t know if he’ll be ready.”

“At this point after going through all the rehab and looking so good last week … to where he’s at today if he can’t get through biking and working out without swelling and stiffness … I just don’t know how he can play in the playoffs,” Rivers said.

This is, obviously, terrible news and essentially ends the Celtics hopes of winning an 18th title — assuming that KG indeed can’t come back at all. We’ll have more all day today.

My parents remembered where they were when JFK got shot. I will forever remember receiving this news.

  • Wihtout KG, the C's don't have a chance. They may slip through the first and maybe second round but that's it.

It's funny to see Lakers fan comparing Bynum to KG, though. What they don't understand is that KG is the inspirational leader of the team. A better comparision (in terms of overall effect of the team) is KG to Kobe (or Lebron). If either the Lakers (or the Cavs lost) them, they'd be screwed too.

    thh204,

Yes, KG is your inspirational leader, as Kobe is ours. But Pierce is your best player and Kobe is our best player. To lose Kobe would put us down in the bottom of the playoffs, if at all. Bynum put up numbers very close to KG and, like KG, is our main defensive stopper in the paint. Either team losing one of the top 3 guys, KG, Pierce, Ray, Kobe, Pau or Bynum, will have an uphill battle. The Lakers made it to the Finals last year missing one of our top three, so there is hope the Celtics can do the same this year.

KG is still not comparable to Bynum Matt…..Please, please dont argue otherwise.

But I agree it wouldnt be like the lakers losing Kobe(that would be us losing pierce), but Pau Gasol.

Losing Bynum would be like us losing Kendrick Perkins, period end of fucking story…and yes we wouldve stuggled without perk, and needed all the intangibles he brings in the paint
